Tom Anagnost

For the past two years, Tom Anagnost has been part of the world of Division 1 women's soccer as an assistant coach at the highest level. He currently works at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, where he has made significant improvements to the program. With his leadership, the program has significantly improved its recruiting, attracting more and better players from all over the country thus increasing the depth of the team. Tom has also made drastic improvements to team video and scout analysis. By introducing Sportscode, Tom has made video far more detailed and efficient for the coaching staff, hence significantly helping the players. It has helped transform the way players learn from their previous games and training sessions as well as prepare them for how their future opponent plays. He has also clearly helped the organization increase its standards and expectations, and subsequently made it possible to meet those expectations by managing the players through goal setting, improvements in training, pre and post season training regimens, strength and conditioning sessions. As a former teacher in the classroom, Tom Anagnost is a firm believer in mentoring and educating young people. By using soccer as a vehicle to teach, Tom has used the game to teach life lessons, build character and empower young people.

During his own sports career, Tom Anagnost performed extraordinarily well. Tom attended Kalamazoo College, the highest ranked undergraduate school in Michigan and an exceptional soccer program that regularly beat all the Division 1 teams they played. He was the first player in the history of the MIAA to be a Division III All American three years in a row. At K College, Tom earned every major award, leaving him the most decorated soccer player to every graduate from this great soccer school. At graduation, Tom earned the Opie Davis award, which signifies the top athlete in the school. In 2006, he was inducted into the Kalamazoo College Sports Hall of Fame, and five years later, Mr. Anagnost joined the ranks of the Saginaw County Sports Hall of Fame, placing him as the best of all the elite athletes in both places where he spent all of his time as a youth.
